LIBERTY'S LEGACY
This wonderful performance is used to encourage our young ones to develop into good citizens.
UPDATE- After their performance at APS, the Liberty's Legacy bus was vandalized at its home place in Huntsville. Our students were so determined to help with this that they raised $1000 to help!! I'm so proud of their good citizenship!

BE BRAVE!
This week we discussed Segregation Laws and how Martin Luther King Jr. desired peace in this world. We read about Rosa Parks and how she wouldn't give up her seat on the bus to a white man. We even watched her interview on Larry King. As young innocent children, they are shocked to hear how people of color were treated differently. We wrapped up our lesson with a statement that read "I was brave like Rosa Parks when I.......". The students really put forth effort in this and enjoyed sharing their writing as we projected them on the board. It was nice to let them share how they overcame a fear.
